YAM-SAT CI 01

Universal Konstructors Associated (UKA), in partnership with the Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HP) and other stakeholders, has announced the launch of Côte d'Ivoire's first nanosatellite program, YAM-SAT CI 01, by the third quarter of 2024. This project aims to strengthen the space ecosystem in Côte d'Ivoire through a public-private partnership. Equipped with a hyperspectral camera, the satellite will provide valuable information to Ivorian farmers to help them adapt to climate change and improve agricultural productivity. It will enable crop mapping, soil analysis and monitoring of pest epidemics. In addition, the satellite will help strengthen national security by providing high-resolution images for activities such as maritime surveillance and the fight against illegal mining.
